The White House Launches Ethics.gov. One Accessible Interface to Seven Different Data Sources

Fulfilling a campaign promise, the Obama administration launched Ethics.gov, a Socrata-powered online database of lobbying reports, ethics records, and campaign finance filings. The new site features a unified search interface, full-text search capabilities, and interactive data exploration to provide unprecedented online access to data that was previously in hard-to-find silos.

San Francisco Moves to Socrata Open Data CloudTM

One of Open Data’s pioneers, San Francisco has been a hub of digital government innovation for some time. Built by Open City, ChicagoLobbyists.org is an Open Source project that continues to receive media attention.

UNDP Shares Financial Data with the Public

Visitors to data.undp.org are now able to access financial expenditures for the many projects that the United Nations Development Programme is conducting around the world. Users can slice and dice the information they want, and access development data in multiple formats, including the International Aid Transparency Initiative.
