Last night we moved the blist blog from www.blist.com/blog to blog.blist.com. As we get ready to launch we wanted to put the blog on a separate subdomain from the website so that it’s easier to have them hosted in physically different locations. Subdomains and the magic of DNS make this possible. The basic idea is that we use the blog as a communications platform and if there were a problem with our main website, we might want to tell people what’s going on via our blog. If they’re physically coupled, they’re more likely to both experience the same problems and symptoms. Physical separation helps ensure we can still communicate.
Hopefully the move was totally transparent and you’re seeing this post directly on the blog or correctly in your RSS reader. If you see anything odd, let us know.

I find it impressive that Bloglines did the right thing with the 301 redirect. I never re-hosted a blog and I was always curious if that would work.
I also wanted to add Feedburner to a few of my blogs, but I was always afraid I couldn’t take the old users, maybe this is the solution.
